Strata’s Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Director is a field-based, external customer-facing member of the Medical Affairs team. The MSL supports the product launch to advance oncology precision medicine and patient care by providing evidence-based high-quality scientific and medical information. The MSL will work cross-functionally to educate, provide medical insights, and collaborate with multiple teams within Strata. This is a remote position from a home‐based office, with expectations for travel up to 50%.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and effectively manage trusted professional relationships with key external stakeholders within assigned territory.
  • Provide scientific and medical support for Strata Oncology’s product launches.
  • Drives the customer journey from initial engagement through implementation and clinical actionability.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive territory plan in alignment with departmental priorities and all legal, regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Gather key insights from field engagements with key external stakeholders that align with and support medical affairs strategies and priorities, and timely documentation and communication of information according to field medical affairs SOPs.
  • Support scientific and medical congress activities including, but not limited to, attending key scientific/clinical presentations, staffing medical affairs booths, gathering competitive intelligence, generating post-congress executive summaries, and participating in pre- and post‐congress training/debrief activities.
  • Conduct impactful scientific and medical exchange with key external stakeholders to support Strata Oncology’s product portfolio, clinical development and research programs, and oncology precision medicine education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Strata including Clinical Partnerships, Clinical Development, Customer Success, and Delivery.
  • Respond to unsolicited external stakeholder requests and directs requests outside of MSL scope to appropriate internal stakeholders according to SOPs.
  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise in oncology precision medicine landscape, Strata Oncology’s product portfolio and clinical development/research programs.
  • Conduct investigator-initiated trials/research discussions to determine alignment with Clinical and Medical Affairs’ priorities and appropriately direct to internal stakeholders according to field medical affairs SOPs.
  • Provide scientific/clinical support to payer/market access and commercial teams in accordance with all legal, regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Provide scientific support to medical affairs leadership team at advisory and tumor boards.
  • Maintain knowledge of and consistently adhere to field SOPs and company policies.
  • Support other projects and activities as requested by the leadership team.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree preferred: PhD, MD, DO, PharmD.
  • Translational/clinical research experience.
  • 3+ experience working as a Medical Science Liaison.
  • 5+ years experience in the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry supporting clinical trials and research.
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in oncology required.
  • Experience in molecular diagnostics, precision medicine and clinical applications preferred.
  • Existing oncology key stakeholder network preferred.
  • Understanding of US health systems and payer landscape.

Skills, specialized knowledge and abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with extensive experience delivering professional scientific/clinical presentations.
  • Highly effective in virtual and in-person networking and engagement.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player in a start-up environment.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize and manage a large territory.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new scientific concepts and clinical applications.
  • Strong personal and professional integrity.
  • Passion for oncology precision medicine and the mission of Strata Oncology.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to achieve meaningful results within a dynamic, fastmoving, high growth environment.
