We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician or Mechanic and Aftermarket Heavy Duty Truck Installer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have around 1-3 years of hands-on experience in wiring and harness creation, as well as installing electrical components in heavy-duty vehicles. The role will also involve basic mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude for installing brackets and radars. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent technical skills, customer service, communication skills, adaptability, and dependability. Responsibilities
- Drive and coordinate the aftermarket installation process of harness sensors and control modules, including troubleshooting, and repairing at customer sites with minimal supervision, as required.
- Ensure technology is performing as designed in customer vehicles, identify issues through engagement with customers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and technical issues through various channels such as phone, email, chat, or ticketing systems.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues, work with and provide feedback to appropriate internal teams, follow up until resolution is achieved.
- Train customer technicians, aftermarket installers and new Traxen technicians on how to perform installs and troubleshoot aftermarket products.
- Utilize basic mechanical skills to install brackets and radars as required.
- Create wiring and harness systems for heavy-duty trucks.
- Conduct test drives of installed systems and participate in verification drives for engineers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
- Learn and use data recording programs for system analysis and reporting.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and availability for on-call rotation and off-hour Critical Issues escalation.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles, FAQs, and support documentation for internal and customer use.
The candidate will be self-directed with a strong ability to support a wide variety of projects. Assignments are broad in scope and highly complex, requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadership. This is a hands-on position and will require regular travel, 50%.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in wiring, harness creation, and electrical component installation in heavy-duty vehicles.
- CDL-A (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in wiring, electro-mechanical integration of vehicle systems preferred.
- Advanced mechanical skills and aptitude for installing brackets and radars.
- 2 years of experience in support, engineering, or another technical role preferred but not required.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn and use data recording programs.
- Strong team player and self-starter with the ability to work independently at customer sites and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand complex issues and break them down using clear and simple writing

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- J1939/CAN tools (Vector CANalyzer / CANape / CANoe, P-CAN, etc.) and standards
- 1-3+ years of verified mechanical experience working in a shop atmosphere, preferably working with heavy/medium duty trucks or certificate from technical or trade school
- Ability to read and work with electrical schematics, with sound understanding of electrical communication principle
- System knowledge of different electric vehicle architectures
