We are seeking an experienced Data Science and Data Engineering Team Manager to lead our data-driven initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping our data strategy, building scalable infrastructure, and driving insights for automated driving technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Define and drive the company’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Work closely with executives, product managers, and engineering teams to integrate data solutions into company operations and products.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
Data Infrastructure & Engineering
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process data from IoT sensors, vehicle telemetry, and external APIs.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes to transform and store structured and unstructured data for analysis.
- Optimize big data architectures for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
- Ensure high availability, data integrity, and security across all data platforms.
Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning
- Collaborate with data scientists to develop machine learning models and analytical solutions.
- Enable real-time and batch processing of sensor and telemetry data to support autonomous vehicle applications.
- Oversee feature engineering, data labeling, and model deployment strategies.
- Promote experimentation and AI-driven insights to enhance company decision-making.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with software engineering teams to integrate data-driven insights into applications and services.
- Act as a liaison between technical and business teams, translating business needs into actionable data solutions.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing teams in data engineering or data science.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern data storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL, data lakes).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong experience with ETL frameworks (Apache Spark, Airflow, Talend) and big data processing tools.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Deep understanding of data modeling, pipeline optimization, and distributed computing.
- Ability to define data quality metrics and ensure data integrity.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Knowledge of connected vehicle technologies and automotive data standards (ISO 26262, V2X communication).
- Experience with sensor fusion and mining data from LIDAR, RADAR, camera, IMU, and GPS.
- Understanding of automotive data networks (CAN, LIN, FlexRay) and their integration into data pipelines.
- Experience leading AI-driven projects in autonomous driving or automotive analytics.
